No Need to Count Calories to Lose Weight or Cure T2 Diabetes

A widely reported recent study indicated that to reverse type 2 diabetes it’s necessary to restrict calorific intake to under 1,000 calories, for a period of 5 months. Although, on the face of it, that’s great news, the news for sufferers of type 2 diabetes is actually even better. You don’t have to count calories for the rest of your life.

Although modern science and nutrition is gradually coming to terms with reality – specifically that it is simply not necessary to suffer a lifetime of medication, side-effects, and monitoring in order to live with type 2 diabetes when the condition can be reversed easily, permanently, and painlessly.

It’s not about the calories you consume – it’s about the “type” of calories

As recently as a couple of years ago doctors in the UK would react to a type 2 diagnosis in a patient by immediately starting medication. Now, more and more doctors are realising that many patients who simply cut out processed carbohydrates and refined sugar can return to normal blood sugar readings immediately.

With a hard-pressed National Health Service already struggling to keep up with a growing, increasingly elderly population, why would it pursue, as some have suggested, bariatric surgery to aid weight-loss and reverse the condition when the only treatment required is to eradicate the foods that cause the condition in the first place. It costs nothing.

“Getting your head right” is essential

That said – it’s not as simple as telling sufferers not to eat certain foods – but explaining which foods are the issue, how you can cut them out of your diet without feeling deprived, and instead feel absolutely fabulous about it, is the key.

Allen Carr’s revolutionary ‘Good Sugar, Bad Sugar’ book, now available as an online video programme, has been described as the perfect companion for Dr Michael Mosley’s books, with one reviewer saying, “Dr Michael Mosley explains the science while Allen Carr’s Good Sugar, Bad Sugar method sorts out your head”.

Claudia Tanner, writing for MailOnline, says “Worldwide, the number of people with type 2 diabetes has quadrupled over 35 years, rising from 108 million in 1980 to 422 million in 2014, and is expected to climb to 642 million by 2040. It affects almost one in ten adults in the UK, and costs the NHS around £14 billion a year.”

John Dicey, Global CEO & Senior Facilitator, Allen Carr’s Easyway, comments “Pharmaceutical companies do an awful lot of good, but their influence on issues such as addiction and dietary conditions is hugely unhelpful. Of course, it’s in their best interests to push treatments that require lifetime reliance on their products, such as e-cigarettes and diabetes medications, and they have the deep pockets to conduct endless clinical trials to indicate a level of effectiveness that supports their use.

Big Pharma won’t make a bean from people changing their diet rather than taking their meds

There’s no commercial driver or incentive for anyone to run clinical trials to prove the effectiveness of non-pharma treatments, which are often as simple as “avoid eating foods x, y, and z” or “get rid of the addiction to nicotine” so research on those “treatments” is sparse. Big Pharma get to push their agenda virtually unopposed. It’s our government who should be looking into the simple, non-pharmacological solutions to health issues but instead they allow themselves to be guided almost entirely by Big Pharma research.”
