Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, and Allen Carr’s Easyway

“It’s an interesting and somewhat inspiring story on the face of it…a Prince falls in love with a talented, accomplished, intelligent woman and is nudged toward quitting smoking as a result”.

John Dicey, Global CEO & Senior Facilitator, Allen Carr’s Easyway is speaking about the breaking news in Women’s Health Magazine, which not only paints the picture that Ms Markle sealed the “You need to quit smoking” deal with the Prince, but went on to provide John’s tips for helping social smokers to quit.

Speaking about smokers who quit at the behest of a loved one John goes on, “Although the motivation for quitting is undoubtedly to please your partner – that motivation won’t actually help you achieve your goal. It only takes one cross word or argument on a night out before the former smoker caves in and has a “Screw you – now look what you made me do” cigarette. Smokers who quit using willpower often seek out disagreements or arguments with their partner to grumpily justify a return to smoking.

My advice is to set aside the desire to quit for your partner and instead decide to quit in spite of that; and quit simply for the reason that you’ll enjoy life so much more as a happy non-smoker. That’s where Allen Carr comes in…the method makes it easy and enjoyable to quit”.

John’s final nugget of advice he gives to the people who attend Allen Carr’s Easyway Seminars across the globe is cute and more than a little cheeky “I say – look – today you’ve learnt how to quit smoking easily, without any horrible withdrawal pains and without any feelings of sacrifice. You’re going to find it ridiculously easy to stop smoking. If you’ve been pressured a little by a partner who’s desperate for you to quit – use that to your advantage…pretend that your finding it a little hard to quit…they’ll be doing the chores for you around the house and pampering you like crazy – just to be as supportive as they can be. Enjoy that for a while”.
